I went to this organization to possibly rent a room they have for rent to college students. As a minister myself, I like to be around people of the similar faith, I had much to hope for! After being shown the property, after noticing the busted water pipe upstairs, the flooded basement and the wide area of dripping water above in a room on the first floor, I still thought that I would be a great help for these people as they would be for me. Was I mistaken! Not just was I told that I cannot perform the Lord's Supper, I was hinted that smoking cigarettes and alcohol may keep me from heaven! That is not all of it! After going back into the office, I overheard the young man talking with a assistant inside the office stating, "I am looking for the key to his room so we can try and clean this up without him noticing." - The woman he was speaking to, refused and reminded him the tenant was coming back the next day. At that moment, I figured I would not want to rent from this assembly after what I had witnessed - Over? Not yet! I was waiting for them to call me back after the pipe line was fixed and was going to notify them that I no longer was interested in their property but instead found out they conducted an unlawful background check, without me ever filling out any paperwork, found other people's criminal information then shared it with the tenants. So here I am, wondering, "What the Heck!?" - They didn't know my middle name, my previous addresses, my employer info, my social, gave me no chance to explain anything and kept hinting alcohol problems. Was this a form of Discrimination? I contacted the site they used to conduct a un accurate background check and was told from the site that it is NOT TO BE USED for background checks, it's a policy. So now, this organization didn't only discriminate against me, they incriminated me to other people by relating me to crimes I never committed, they refused to let me fill out a full application so that it would be legal, they told me to not call anymore and that I am not welcomed unless I have my lawyer call them... Yeah, right. I will handle this situation, push for a solution and let GOD handle it then! This may be called the First Assembly of God but I am not seeing God in it! Pastor Whitmire asked me if I was threatening them by quoting scripture! What the?! It's okay - Elohim will handle it when it's on his time! :)
I have visited a lot of the churches in Rolla and I must say that this one is the best in my opinion. The people at this church are the most giving and loving people you will ever meet. The pastors here are the best. They are all men of God that love the Lord and people. They preach the Bible and live their lives in a way that shows me how Christians should live. I have been going to this church for a little over three years now and I love it. I love their heart for missions and for the lost in our city. The way they reach out to help so many people outside of the church. They are always doing for widows and for the homeless. If anyone has a need they are always there to lend a helping hand. I stay amazed at the way the Lord is using the pastors and how they devote their lives to the church and the Lord. We have Godly men leading this church and I am so thankful that they put the Lord first in their lives. If you are looking for a church home I would highly recommend this church. You won't find one in Rolla better than this one. God is at work in this church and in the lives of those that attend here. You will be blessed if you come to a service here. We all need to be working for the Lord and I don't know of a better place that you can start doing that than at this church. Come worship the King of Kings with us and see what the Lord is doing here.
I have been involved with this church for many years. I can not even put into words the impact the people and leadership have had on my family. 8 years ago my husband left me with three children, the youngest was only 6 months old at the time, I had no job ,I had been a stay at home mom. I was scared and felt totally unsure of how to handle the future. The people at First Assembly of God in Rolla were there for me in ways that still blow my mind. They supported me and my children emotionally, physically and spiritually. I never felt judged or rejected because of my status as a divorced single mom.I know that with out this church by my side holding me up , when I couldn't stand on my own, my children and I would have never made it. They take their God given responsibility to care for their community very seriously and do so with generous and joyful attitudes. I am grateful everyday for the new "family" I have been blessed with through First Assembly of God.
This is my church where that i grew up in. Theres none better(: they helped my mom and dad when our house got condemned there was 6 of us kids. Amazing people in this Church
This church has been my church home for a number of years, and the people there are real people living out the mission God has placed before them. They aren't perfect, but they are loving, compassionate, and love the Lord completely. They understand what the Great Commission is all about, and it shows in the way they treat people and the opportunities they provide. This is a church knows the power of prayer. They support missionaries, send groups on mission trips, help individuals in need, educate young people...the list goes on and on. Pastor Whitmire and the rest of the staff there are caring individuals who put God first in all they do. The earlier negative review is based on a selfish need for revenge and not on fact.
