Our Suburban busted down near Waynesville. We decided to tow to Rolla to my FILs mechanic, but we were sure it was the tranny. I'll give the mechanic the benefit of the doubt that he didn't realize "his tranny guy" is unethical, when he sent it over there. I feared being out of town, someone may scam us. Well, we were RIGHT! $1800 and we get it home, 2 days later, it busts. Towed to *our* trusted mechanic of 10 yrs, and it's a seal that should've been done. Ok..

I went there for car over heating problem, I was traveling on I-44. The mechanic, Robert is good and nice. The owner started nice, but he got greedy knowing I was stranded. Don't accept credit cards or out of town checks. No testing equipments at all in the shop. After more than $250.00 of guessing and missing work, $70.00 for oil change, add to that hotel expenses for the nicght, I had to leave. The owner wanted to charge more than double the price for parts of their retail price. I had to leave and look for another shop to fix my car.
Fast friendly very nice people fixed my problem without much fuss unlike other shops in Rolla

A month later and the Burb is acting like tranny problems AGAIN!! It was obvious by the guys reaction to the first call about it busting, that there was no way this guy could, or would, make it right. So, I didn't even call him again, planned to sue later. Towed to our mechanic again. The whole tranny needed rebuilt. The guy hadn't cleaned old seals, certainly didn't do a full rebuild!! All cause he thought we aren't "locals". The irony is that we have LOTS of family there, and we were moving back! Near our large families, and we have a large family coming with us. I will be letting everyone know NOT to use this place!! We're too busy building a house to sue this guy, but I could've used that $1800...
